RESEARCH LEADS TO RESULTS

In my dedication with the assistance of some of Australia's leading trainers from Acceleration, we have completed extensive research into the areas of common injury sites, types of injuries and types of exercises known  to ALLEVIATE such injuries. We understand football is prone to many injuries and in order to stay ahead of your competition you must remain fit and stay Injury FREE.

  

  • We have DISCOVERED that people with higher body fat percentages are more common for injuries of the Hamstrings.
  • Any previous injury places that player at a greater risk of re-injury in the same area.
  • Approximately 85% of all football injuries occur in participants through to 23 years of age, with approximately 45% under the age of 15 years of age.
  • FEMALES are more prone to ankle injuries and knee injuries when compared to males.
  • In aged-matched players, relatively poor muscular STRENGTH has been associated with higher rates of injury
  • Indoor soccer injuries occur 6.1 more times compared with outdoor in comparisonto hours played.
  • The most common nonfatal injury in football is SOFT-TISSUE contusion.  
  • The most common football injuries are of the Ankle at 17.5% and the Knee at 11.3% for all causes of injury

  

Although most importantly, 46% of all football injuries are of the lower extremities, with sprains and strains accounting for 34%, contusions/abrasions 23%, and fractures 24.5% for all cause of Injury.

WHAT'S THE PURPOSE OF PRE-SEASON TRAINING?

 

Acceleration places great emphasis on ANALYSIS, EDUCATION, CONDITIONING, and RESULTS generated over the 4month training schedual of the Pre-Season. 

I understand players are expected to keep his or her physical levels at their highest before the SEASON begins.

I understand the Coach prefers Conditioned athletes coming into season.

I want you too, to understand the importance of having the EDGE and staying AHEAD of your competition. Or if you wish to know more simply ask Jason Calina, Michael Thwaite, Shane Smeltz or the other players from GC United, because we train them.

If you have GREATER physical fitness, STRENGTH and agility over your team mates and other players, you not only perform greater in selections, but also allow yourself adequate time for developing and fine tuning balls skills, foot movements and set plays without the loss of valuable TIME.

 

 The PRE-SEASON FOOTBALL program will include:

 

Level 1 -

Development of essential building blocks necessary for a successful Football season. Level 1 focuses on developing the FOUNDATIONS of football fitness by minimizing stress of the joints and maximizing muscular development through slow, controlled movements. Level 1 also focuses on develpoment of Core strength and Hip stability, whilst also improving your Flexibility and Balance. It is vital, you the athlete prepares your body for exercise. Level 1 is a crucial step in order to progress to the next level.

  

Level 2 -

Designed to MAXIMIZE your strength with low repetitions. YOU will generate large increases in Speed, improvements in Running Technique and Running SPEED (Improve AEROBIC fitness). This month of the program is designed in preparation for the power training involved with Levels 3 and Level 4 training.

  

Level 3 -

Concentration on ANAEROBIC fitness (Higher intensity exercises requiring a higher rate of energy production that is greater than that supplied by aerobic respiration). With the introduction of Upper and Lower body power training you will develop explosive power off the mark, with an increase in your vertical jump height (required for that screaming header). This month of training is where your newfound speed will be converted to foot speed and agility required for the more football specific movement.

  

Level 4 -

The Final Stage of the training program is developed to REFINE your Speed, Agility, maximize your STRENGTH and maintain your AEOROBIC fitness. This final stage of the problem is designed to be completed 10 days prior to the commencement of the football season.
